Description

Hey guys! Long time no see!

During my little off-time from dA I have been moving from obsessing with Hunger Games to obesssing with Harry Potter fanfiction (especially the pairing Scorpius/Rose lol) and THEN, recently, to re-obsessing with chinese wuxia stuff. :)

I'm sure a lot of people here won't know what I'm talking about (or care)... but basically! There's this author called Jin Yong who's pretty popular in China. When I was little I used to watch wuxia (you know, kung fu) flicks with my grandmom and my dad a lot. My love for this genre survived my move to the States. xD My interest did cool off after middle school though, when there weren't any more TV adaptations of Jin Yong's novels airing (that I wanted to watch, anyway).

BUT, just a few weeks ago, I came across Jin Yong's books in a box at my house. My mom bought a complete set of his books around five years ago. Well, once I picked up my favorite series I dove straight back into my obsession with this stuff.

I mean, what's not to love? Fighting, romance, beautiful ancient costumes and SWORDS and awesomeness.

Anyway, this is a leading lady in one of these books, called Xiao Ao Jiang Hu (English title is Proud, Smiling Wanderer). She's my favorite heroine out of all the ones the author wrote. :love: Her name is Ren Ying Ying or 任盈盈 (it's a really pretty name in Chinese!).

If you're still reading this ridiculously long note... and if you're interested... I did all coloring on SAI. A little playing around with background color on Photoshop.

I'm really proud/fond of this so sorry, but i'm putting on the watermark. ^_^;

Is that the green dress she wore in Linghu's headmastership ceremony?

Smiling Proud Wanderer is my favorite wuxia and Ren Ying Ying the only character I didn't want to smite with a giant mallet (like Linghu).

Wish you could do a piece on Linghu's master-wife ( A heroic and fine woman wasted on that despicable hypocrite).
